And I completely agree with them. Guests have a unique opportunity to try both local delicacies and international dishes. However, more attention is given to Provençal dishes. Fresh pastries, delicious fruits, cheeses, honey, jams, dried fruits, coffee made to order — and that's not all. Gluten-free dishes and vegan options are also offered. The presentation is beautiful and exquisite, and the view of the Old Port is simply mesmerizing!

By the way, the service for guests at breakfast is exceptional. And in general, all the hotel staff are polite and willing to do a lot to ensure guests are satisfied. I would also mention its advantageous and convenient location as a feature. You can even stay inside and watch the changing events in the harbor all day. Or step out, take a few steps, and find yourself at one of the many attractions of this ancient port city.

For example, the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations is located near the hotel, as well as the historic Panier district with its famous architectural complex Vieille Charité. In addition, many other architectural monuments from that period have been preserved in the narrow streets of the district, such as the building of the Museum of Arts of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas and the Diamond House, which now houses the exhibition of the Old Marseille Museum.

This modern hotel is located in a historic 19th-century building. It is very popular, affordable, and has excellent reviews, so I recommend booking a room there as soon as possible.

Do you go out in the mornings for a fresh baguette or croissant for breakfast? Here you simply need to go down to the restaurant and choose fresh pastries from a vast selection.

Choose ready-made meals or order a hot dish from the menu. There are also options for late and early breakfasts, children's menu, and gluten-free options. I think there is everything here.

NH Collection Marseille is located in the coastal area of La Joliette. During the active construction and repair of ships, this area thrived, but then it fell into decline. Now it has transformed and attracts the attention of all city visitors. 

Historical buildings have been revitalized, and interesting shops, bars, and museums have appeared in this area. Visit the Marché de la Joliette — one of the busiest markets in Marseille and Les Docks. These are abandoned warehouses from the 19th century featuring trendy boutiques and galleries. By the way, the historic city center is very close. Although there is a tram stop right in front of the hotel, the metro station is just a few meters away.

The rooms are very spacious, bright, and clean. Guests will be pleased with the full-length mirror, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, comfortable beds, high-quality bed linen, and bath cosmetics. It's a pleasant place to stay. The suites offer a few more amenities, but each room is very nice. 

The hotel is located near a busy intersection, so if you book rooms on the lower floors with street-view windows, it can be a bit noisy. To sleep like a baby, I recommend choosing higher floors or windows facing the courtyard. Moreover, from the top, there is a stunning view of the city. As I read in one of the reviews: "The view from the window in the morning at dawn makes you love life and rejoice."

I am returning to the Old Port and I will tell you about another hotel with wonderful breakfasts. This time it is Maisons du Monde with a rather unusual, yet stylish and modern interior. Interestingly, each of the rooms is decorated in its own way.

Breakfast is served from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM on weekdays and from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM on weekends and holidays. The buffet offers fresh bread from a local bakery, jams from the nearby orchard, homemade granola, cereals, hearty pies, tartlets, meat delicacies, cheeses, dairy products, and egg dishes. Beverages include hot chocolate, roasted coffee, tasty tea, and juices. 

There is a 50% discount for children. According to reviews, all guests are absolutely thrilled with the breakfast. They observed the chefs, who also enjoyed and lovingly prepared the food.

Maisons du Monde wants to invite you on a small journey. The Mediterranean Saint Remy with soft natural elements in the decor gives a feeling of harmony and closeness to nature. I was drawn to Gordes in art deco style. The botanical print on the wall and rich deep colors of the furniture are incredibly soothing. 

I assure you, a room like Cassis you have never encountered. The escapism-style decor makes you want to admire it for hours. Choose Lourmarin if you are familiar with French charm. This elegant room features classic decor with a twist. Aubagne with terracotta shades sends us to the villages of Provence to the masters of clay processing. In such rooms, it feels incredibly warm and cozy.

I already mentioned that in addition to rooms, you can book comfortable apartments and suites. They are located just a five-minute walk from the hotel and are named after famous characters from Marcel Pagnol's novels. Your choice will depend on the number of people and how many days you are staying. Here you will enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, washing and drying machines. Some have a separate terrace, while others have rooms on two levels. It's great that the hotel features many photographs, and you will definitely be able to make a decision.

I have a couple more unusual accommodation options for you in Marseille. Both are located away from the city center. For example, Valflor of the "bed and breakfast" format. It is a country mansion from the 19th century with a swimming pool and an inner courtyard surrounded by palm trees. Just a hundred meters from La-Pointe-Rouge beach.

A big advantage of this accommodation is that breakfast is already included in the price and does not need to be ordered for an additional fee. Here, a real French breakfast is served in a homely atmosphere with a view of the garden. It’s great that you won’t have to get up early, as breakfast will be served at a time that suits you. You can expect traditional baguettes, fresh croissants, jam, yogurt, fruit, cheese, and coffee. The hostess has her own approach to all guests and their taste preferences.

Imagine yourself as a character in a book who has come to visit distant relatives in France. They are attentive to you and lovingly care for the grounds of their villa. It is clean and beautiful here. The apartments in the villa are very cozy and have their own bathroom, a soft bed, and everything you need for living. From the large windows, there is a view of the blooming garden. It is quite close to bustling streets with restaurants, but it is incredibly quiet at the villa. I'm not joking, you can only hear the cicadas and birds here. On a hot day, it's so nice to refresh yourself in the pool. Or go to the sea, which is just a few steps away.

The villa itself, its owners, amenities, and breakfasts have excellent reviews. You will be welcomed if your flight is delayed, and they will also tell you what is best to see in the surroundings of Marseille. You may not want to leave the villa, but there is plenty to see in the area. 

Convenient location - close to public transport stops and many beautiful walking routes. If central hotel location is not important to you, and you want to interact with locals and learn more about their way of life, as well as wish to escape the urban noise by the sea, then Villa Valflor is definitely your choice.

I am finishing the selection of hotels in Marseille with another villa that includes breakfast. This option is not suitable for a beach holiday, and it is also quite far from the city center, but the location is exceptional: the view of the city opens up from the hill.

Breakfast at Le Clos du Jas is free and is served from 8:30 AM to 10 AM. Classical music plays in the room, setting the tone for the whole day. The atmosphere is calm and pleasant. On the table, there are bread, butter, yogurts, fruits, milk, cereals, and coffee. Special attention deserves the homemade jams, marmalade, and chocolate rolls. Tea with various flavors is also good, and it can be brought directly to the room. Although there is a kettle and tea available. The breakfast is tasty, but some may find it not quite filling.

The rooms have a separate entrance and seemed quite cozy to me. Everything is clean, the bed linen is nice, it smells good, and there is air conditioning. The showers are spacious, equipped with all necessary toiletries. The blooming garden is beautiful, and the fragrance from there is magical. The hosts are polite, friendly, and meticulously maintain the property. There are many walking trails in the area to explore the surroundings. I believe a car is necessary for longer distances. It can be parked behind the gates.

Guests write that the roads leading to the villa are not very convenient for travel. The situation with public transportation is worse than in the previous accommodation option. To reach the bus stop leading to the city center, one must cover 1.5 km. I have also come across reviews that the rooms are not spacious enough and have poor sound insulation. Due to the size of the villa, guests often have to deal with neighbors. However, every guest, despite the drawbacks, would happily return to this place.
